Director of Finance - Temporary Contract (6-12 months)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the accounting department with three direct reports. Scope includes providing leadership and support to Accounts Receivable, Credit/Collections functions, Accounts Payable, Banking, and Cash Management and payroll
- On-demand banking transactions, cheques, wire payments, and bank reconciliations
- Manage the month-end/year-end process including reviewing/preparing journal entries and account reconciliations through to preparing internal financial statements
- Develop internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for accounting, cash and credit management, supply chain and administration
- Compile and analyze monthly financial reporting packages, monitoring the financial performance of the company and presentation to senior management
- Prepare 12-month rolling forecasts and annual operating budgets
- Oversee the bi-weekly payroll and provide backup when needed
- Streamline, improve and maintain accounting and operations functions using best practices
Monitor and enforce compliance with applicable Federal and Provincial laws, regulations, policies, and government remittances - Creating ad hoc and standard reporting as required by the management team
- Prepare year-end working papers and coordinate annual audit requirements and/or other independent reviews as required
- Other responsibilities as assigned
What your bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
- 10 years experience in a senior accounting or financial management role
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
